As is house tradition, Thom Browne‘s 2024 Met Gala crew posed for a pre-carpet group photo, shared exclusively with The Hollywood Reporter.

The Thom Browne class of Met Gala 2024 group includes Cynthia Erivo, Rebecca Ferguson, Gigi Hadid, model Alton Mason, NBA pro Ben Simmons, Jaden Smith, Steven Yeun and — making a rare red carpet appearance together — Queen Latifah and her partner, choreographer/producer Eboni Nichols.

They gathered for their class photo at The Pierre New York hotel, wearing pieces that tackled the night’s “The Garden of Time” dress code and also speak to Browne’s laser-sharp vision and effortless cool. On display among the group of nine are nature details, plaid and a whole lot of black and white.

Among the best dressed stars of the night, Erivo stunned in a black sequined Thom Browne set that features a tailored jacket and skirt with a whimsical overlay of 2,000 pink silk moiré petals and 3D beaded insects. It’s topped off with a black silk satin tie. The Wicked star previously graced the 2017 Met Gala carpet wearing Thom Browne.

Ferguson’s high-neck look is clad in green and blue Swarovski crystal florets and black raffia ravens. It took 30 people and 8,500 hours to make, and was crafted in 60,000 crystals and 7,000 folded petals. She paired it with a voluminous cape that also carried through the raven imagery.

Mason sported an undone Thom Browne suit style with frayed-edge trousers, a silk satin cummerbund and an oversized tailcoat in black deconstructed denim tweed. He also rose above the crowd in platform astronaut boots in black and white patent leather with the designer’s signature stripe detail.

Browne, who recently threw an equally star-studded party in Los Angeles to celebrate his partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue, is the current chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

This year’s Met Gala dress code, “The Garden of Time,” takes its cue from the 1962 short story of the same name by J.G. Ballard, which dovetails nicely with the latest Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, which opens to the public on Friday, May 10. The Andrew Bolton-curated show spotlights fragile pieces from the institute’s archives, all viewed through a lens of nature. The exhibit’s coffee table book will be released on June 18.
